A delegate of the Lincoln Park section of San Diego, Gangster rap veteran Mitchy Slick recently appeared on the #TNYLTH podcast to discuss music, street life, and community outreach.
During the conversation, Slick reflected on his introduction to music; being influenced by Master P’s independent grind; and how gang life hindered his success over the years.
Slick also talked about collaborating with everyone from Gladys Knight to Andre Nickatina; the diverse culture of San Diego; joining Strong Arm Steady; and how appearing on Gangland tainted his career commercially.
Before the interview ended, Slick touched on the toy and food giveaways he hosts in San Diego; his friendship with The Jacka; being featured on The Game’s “My Flag” track; and the forthcoming sequel to his groundbreaking debut Triggeration Station.
