C-Murder: The Night That Got Him a Life Sentence

In the early 2000s, Corey “C-Murder” Miller — the younger brother of Master P — was at the top of his game. A platinum-selling rapper and key figure in the rise of No Limit Records, C-Murder had built a name in both music and the streets. But one fatal night just minutes outside of New Orleans changed everything.

In January 2002, 16-year-old Steve Thomas was shot and killed during a fight at the Platinum Club in Harvey, Louisiana. C-Murder was arrested, convicted, and ultimately sentenced to life in prison for Thomas’s death.

Throughout it all, C-Murder has maintained his innocence — and the case has long been surrounded by controversy, including no DNA evidence, no murder weapon, and key witnesses later recanting their testimonies.

In this documentary, we revisit the tragic night that altered two lives forever and examine C-Murder’s rise in the rap game. We also shed light on a separate incident at a Baton Rouge club that led to him being charged with two counts of attempted murder.
