Memphis Bleek Talks Career, Friendship With Jay-Z

It’s no secret that Roc-A-Fella Records had the rap game in a choke hold for a decent amount of years. And one of the artists on the label’s roster during its glory years was Memphis Bleek, an aggressive spitter hailing from Brooklyn.

Bleek
came up under the tutelage of Jay-Z.
Over the years, he delivered several solo albums, dropped verses on a few memorable songs, and enjoyed a decent amount of success. However, he never managed to fully live up to the potential that some presumed he would. And others viewed him as a freeloader who acquired attention because of his association with Jay.

In an interview with ThisIs50, Bleek opens up about how he developed a relationship with Jay-Z and how that’s hindered his career. He also talks about coming up in the streets, if he ever smashed one of the members of Destiny’s Child, and reveals the biggest misconception about him. Check out the interview below.
