A Few Dope Tracks: Dom Kennedy

Dom Kennedy is one of my favorite artists.

I got hip to him via “Racing Stripes” off Curren$y’s Smokee Robinson mixtape and have witnessed his sound, following and grind evolve since then.

Something I’ve always respected about Dom is his commitment to being original. Not afraid to stray from trends or push his creativity, each of Dom’s projects bless listeners with a different flavor. The Original Dom Kennedy sounds nothing like Yellow Album or Los Angeles Is Not For Sale Vol. 1 and those are on a different wave than his Half-A-Mil projects with Hit-Boy (their album Courtesy of Half-A-Mil is worth checking out).

Peep some dope vibes from Leimert Park’s very own below.
