Tupac’s Thoughts on ‘Thug Life,’ Gangs, Prison & the Government

In 1995, less than two years before his death, Tupac opened up about the misconceptions of “thug life,” the benefits of gangs and the government’s lack of support for people of color while incarcerated at Clinton Correctional Facility in New York.

During the interview, Pac also touched on the impact of rap music, the nation’s prison industry and the special friendship he shares with his mother.
