Kafani, a rapper hailing from Oakland, California, was shot Saturday night minutes before he filmed the video to his song “Philthy You a Verse Lick.”
The song is a response to fellow Oakland rapper Philthy Rich‘s diss track, “Swear to God.” Philthy Rich also mentioned Bay Area rappers Messy Marv and DB Tha General in the song.
Kafani was shot shortly before video cameras could capture the visual for his song, which he was filming in Philthy Rich’s Seminary Avenue neighborhood. Kafani is currently in critical condition.
In other news, Kafani, who gained popularity for his song “Fast (Like A Nascar),” was recently outed by his girlfriend for having an alleged homosexual affair.
