A Classic Track: Outkast – “Decatur Psalm”

On August 27th, 1996 a classic hip-hop album was presented to the world: ATLiens. The sophomore effort of boundary-pushing group Outkast, the album differed significantly from their 1994 debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.

One of the songs that really caught my ear off the project is “Decatur Psalm.” Over a laid-back track produced by Organized Noize, Andre 3000 and Big Boi, along with Big Gipp and Cool Breeze, give listeners a refreshing earful of
Southern-based hip-hop at its finest. Check out the track below.
