After multiple inaccurate release dates, Lil Boosie was released from Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola earlier this month. To bring the world up-to-date on his situation and plans looking forward, he held a press conference.
Moderated by The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee, the press conference featured brief thoughts from Bun B, Webbie, and Boosie’s mom before the rapper hit the stage. During the press conference, Boosie opened up about writing more than 1,000 songs, plans of doing a joint-album with C-Murder (currently incarcerated at Angola for murder), his record deal with Atlantic, upcoming tour, and when fans can expect some new music.
In 2009, Boosie went to prison after pleading guilty to a third-offense marijuana possession charge. It was also determined that he violated probation that year; he was sentenced to four years. His sentencing, however, was extended in 2011 after he was busted trying to smuggle codeine into Louisiana State Penitentiary. He ended up pleading guilty to the offense and had eight years added to his sentence. On the contrary, in May 2012, Boosie was acquitted in the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd and avoided having a life sentence added to his aforementioned charges.
