Kevin Gates Talks Game Diss, Prison Life, and Birdman’s Influence


Already enjoying a significant buzz, Baton Rouge spitter Kevin Gates received a swarm of acclaim for being among the artists selected for XXL‘s 2014 Freshmen class. The class wasn’t welcomed with open arms by everyone, however. And one of the people who happened to disapprove of the selected spitters was Game, who decided to release the track “Bigger Than Me” dissing the freshmen.

During his interview with VladTV, Gates
shared his thoughts on Game’s decision to diss the cover. He also talked about being mentored by Cash Money Records co-CEO Birdman, what brought forth his incarceration, and how prison ultimately made him a better person. Check out all three parts of the interview below.
