Sixteen, the latest mixtape from Jet Life Recordings artist Corner Boy P, is reportedly inspired by his final cups of Actavis’ promethazine and codeine-based cough syrup. The cough and cold medication was discontinued after Actavis noticed it was being heavily used for recreational purposes.
During an interview with DJ Smallz, Corner Boy decoded Sixteen, a13-track project that brings listeners into the world of a New Orleans-bred rap artist still tied to the very streets music enabled him to escape.
Corner Boy broke down the mixtape’s artwork, track list, and guest appearances. He also revealed his writing and recording process for the project, and explained the basis behind some of the mixtape’s songs.
