It has been more than a decade since Webbie delivered the first installment of his Savage Life series. And despite hip-hop being on a different wave now, he refuses to abandon the format, recently dropping Savage Life V.
Clad in Atlanta Braves apparel, he stopped by ATL’s Hot 107.9 to talk about his latest project with B. High. The Baton Rouge rhymer also reflected on his friendship with the late Pimp C, overcoming barriers over the years, and growing up with his comrade and labelmate Boosie Badazz.
Sporadic, entertaining and relatively spiritual, Webbie also touches on a handful of other topics, including his relationship with God; the importance of kids staying in school; allegedly having $20,000 stolen from his hotel room; reality shows; and parenthood.

My faith in God is one of the constant things in my life that keeps on getting stronger and stronger every minute that passes. When I was younger, I did not really understood why people believed in someone that they have no concrete proof that exists. I had a lot of questions about God back then. I thought to myself, why should I have faith in someone that I cannot talk to, someone I cannot hear, or someone I can see? Then, as I grew up, I experienced a lot of obstacles and problems that I was only able to survive because I chose to finally believe in God. From that day on, I dedicated everything to Almighty God and trusted that He will never put me in a situation that I cannot overcome.
