Baltimore Brewery Makes Kanye West-Inspired Beer

First We Feast — Kanye West is a modern day renaissance man. If he’s not grabbing the aux chord at Madison Square Garden, or planning his imminent takeover of Swedish furniture manufacturers, he’s dropping, albums, sneakers, and clothing collections, stunting on the haters at every possible moment.

And while Yeezy’s love of birthday cakebanana pudding, and, of course, ice cream has been incredibly well-documented over the years, it’s about time the Louis Vuitton Don got a beer that matches his split personalities.

According to our friends over at Pigeons & Planes, Baltimore-based brewery Stillwater Artisanal has somehow managed to harness the power of Dr. Pepper’s infamous 23 flavors in order to craft a Yezus-inspired Imperial Porter. Aptly titled, “I Miss the Old Kanye,” the beer includes ingredients like juniper, prunes, plums, star anise, cloves, and Brettanomyces.

Clocking in at 8% ABV, the beer also features a Life of Pablo-esque label, and sounds just as manic as its namesake.

“I’ve been afflicted by not one, not two, but all twenty-three flavors,” the label reads. “I’m always one-of-kind.”

As P&P notes, the brewery was founded by Brian Strumker, a former electronica DJ and producer, and “I Miss the Old Kanye” is far from the company’s first foray into the realm of rap. Stillwater Artisanal already boasts a 6 God-style “Hopvine Bling” brew, and a Kendrick Lamar-inspired IPA called “Moneytree$.”

“Ever since I left the city to collab with Hudson Valley Brewery, you got a reputation for yourself now,” the tag for the Drake-approve, dry-hopped Berliner Weisse reads. “Start wearing less and going out more.”
