Why Consistency is Vital for the New Wave Entrepreneur

Living Civil — In 2016, everyone is turning into their own boss, finding their purpose, and pursuing their passion. “Living Civil” is all about encouraging people to step outside of the box society places us in and make a living off of whatever makes you happy. 

An entrepreneur will tell you that it can be harder to walk in your purpose and live life in a non-traditional way than it is to work a 9-5. When you are your own boss you don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself, which can become tricky because we are our biggest critic, we hold ourselves back, and ironically we are responsible and in complete control of our life.

When building a brand or business you have to put your everything into it. A new wave entrepreneur doesn’t have to clock in and out of work, so they should live their life as if it is a business that is consistently open 24/7.

Life comes with many distractions and in the words of DJ Khaled, they truly don’t want you to “live civil” and win. When following your dream, roadblocks will get thrown in your way to prevent you from reaching your fullest potential. Certain roadblocks are out of your control, others may be your fault, but you must learn and grow from them immediately. 

​Consistency is one thing that you have complete control over when it comes to your brand and it is vital to the success of the new wave entrepreneur. Here’s why:

  • Consistency builds visibility and markets to the subconscious mind. When your consumer sees your brand repetitively on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc. it becomes recognizable by default. They will want the products without event realizing or decided that they want the products.
  • Consistency builds a reputation and adds fuel to your brand. If your product or service has trouble separating itself from the competition, being consistent and dependable can make up for a lack of competitive advantage while you find ways to improve.
  • Consistency allows for measurement, until you have tried something over and over again you truly don’t know if it works or not. You have to constantly put your work out there and go through trial and error to truly know what your brand is capable of. If you don’t know what your brand is capable of and don’t have solid content, product, numbers, views, or revenue how can anyone see your value?
  • Consistency creates accountability because you know that you have to be dependable, your consumers and your audience expects you to deliver a certain type of way. When you fail to be consistent you are letting down more people than just yourself.
  • Consistency helps you grow because practice makes perfect and the more you work the better you will get. It’s simple.
