Is it me, or has 2017 flown by? It seems like it was just last week when the year started, and now we’re on the heels of 2018.
Shaking my head. I must be getting old.
To keep it real, this year has been bittersweet for me. I’ve been unemployed, lost several family members, snagged a new gig, moved to a new state and developed a greater understanding of faith. Yep, and then some.
It’s all good though. I really can’t complain. Every day, I’m reminded of how beautiful God is, and how so many of my brothers and sisters around the world are dealing with their own forms of adversity. We all go through challenges, mines may be totally different from your’s. No matter the circumstances, as long as we keep the faith and stay focused, we’ll see it through.
For what it’s worth, I’m happy it’s fall. It’s been my favorite season since my early teens. For some reason, it places me at a state of peace. It’s something about the weather (well, if it’s not freezing), the colorful leaves, the atmosphere — it gives me a good vibe.
I’m grateful to be able to enjoy another Thanksgiving, too. This holiday holds a special spot in my heart. Not only because I get to go the hell in on some grub, but because I’m able to connect with family I don’t see often. It reminds me of how important it is to cherish family and the time you spend with them.
I hope everyone enjoys the holiday, whether it’s with family, friends, a significant other or by yourself. Make the most out of it, because, as we see, time flies and life is short.
Oh, yeah, Happy Thanksgiving!
