A founding member of Detroit’s Team Eastside, CEO of RGS Music Group and front-man of Forever Gutta, DameDot has been on his independent grind for several calendars.
Known for delivering solid project after project, he’s back again with his first release of 2019: Umbrella. Worth checking out if you’re an aficionado of the D’s rap scene and street culture (both which continue to influence the sounds of artists in and outside of the Midwest), the 14-track effort meshes flashy street talk with sophistication, humor and wisdom — all elements of Dame, one of Detroit’s top lyricists in my humble opinion.
It’s good to see Dame’s evolution, and I hope he continues to keep his foot on the gas, push himself creatively and open more doors for dope artists. The sky’s the limit.
